When shaking your Xiaomi Ultra, you may notice a slight rattling or clicking sound. This is completely normal and not a sign of a defect.
What causes the noise?
The Xiaomi Ultra is equipped with OIS technology (Optical Image Stabilisation). This compensates for small hand movements when taking photos and videos to reduce motion blur and improve image sharpness.
For the OIS system to work properly, a certain amount of clearance is deliberately left inside the camera module so the OIS motor can move freely. This is why a slight noise can be heard when the device is shaken.
Good to know
This behaviour is a normal characteristic of high-end camera modules with optical image stabilisation. Many flagship smartphones from various manufacturers exhibit the same behaviour. The noise does not affect the functionality of your device or the camera performance.
